MORNING EXERCISE
By Elizabeth Stoeckel
Run, ride, peddle, step.
Going, going
getting nowhere fast.
The heart struggles to meet the demands
of the determined and sometimes rebellious body.
I smile, and then laugh
at the many pairs of flailing limbs
as they are reflected in the mirrored walls.
We move independently together.
Going, going
getting nowhere fast.
